GAS & WATER FURTHER LIMITS ACCESS TO FACILITIES TO LOWER RISK OF WORKPLACE EXPOSURE or spreading of CORONAVIRUS

Gas & Water will not turn off services on past due accounts nor will late fees or penalties be applied to past due accounts while facilities are closed.

Effective at 8 a.m. Friday, March 20, Gas & Water will close the Madison Street administration and engineering lobby. Customer service centers and the water and wastewater treatment plants were closed to the public on March 16 and will remain closed during the state of emergency declared by local, state and federal authorities.

Gas & Water’s goal is to limit employee-to-employee and customer contact while continuing to safely provide essential utility services.

Limited customer service operations will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays.

Call (931) 645-7400 on Tuesday or Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for new water and gas service connections or email gasandwater@cityofclarksville.com.

PLEASE HOLD INQUIRIES & QUESTIONS UNTIL OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICES ARE REOPENED FOR FULL SERVICE.

Full details are enclosed in this News Release.

Conditions will be monitored frequently, and the public will be notified promptly when full access resumes.

Call (931) 645-7400 or the emergency after-hours number, (931) 645-0116, to report gas, water and sewer emergencies.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation!

NO WIPES, NO PAPER TOWELS, NO TRASH IN TOILETS!

PLEASE DO NOT FLUSH wipes, paper towels, diapers, feminine products or anything other than human waste or toilet paper in toilets!

Products labeled as “flushable” or “disposable” are commonly made of fibers that do not break down in the treatment process and often build up in pipes causing messy and costly backups or overflows in your home and our wastewater collection system.
